Crossing borders: Examining individual differences in the melodic perception of dialects and languages — A journey from musicology and (socio-)linguistics to neurophysiology
Wie musikalisch ist Sprache? Das APART-Projekt „Crossing Borders“ untersucht, warum Menschen Dialekte und Sprachen unterschiedlich melodisch wahrnehmen. Dabei wird erforscht, welche Rolle Sprachkompetenz, Musikalität, Kultur und Gehirnprozesse spielen.
Die Studie umfasst über 30 Sprachen und ermöglicht einen einzigartigen Einblick in die Vielfalt sprachlicher Melodien weltweit. So entsteht ein umfassenderes Verständnis dafür, warum manche Sprachen „melodischer“ klingen als andere.
